For their new training centre, PricewaterhouseCoopers envisaged a space that would foster ‘Connected Thinking’ and give its users a chance to take an inspiring, interactive break from routine.
For this new training centre, PricewaterhouseCoopers envisages a space which fosters Connected Thinking: here, users are able to break from the sometimes unavoidable routine and interact, inspire and collaborate.
Connective spaces are therefore given special attention in design and planning. These attractions are hot spots offering a variety of viewpoints and vistas, encouraging people to look at issues from various angles, share different experiences and build relationships, all essential to Connected Thinking.
Views create the journey: entry is staged at Tower A, wowing people with a stunning view of the Victoria Harbour and the now disused but legendary Kai Tak airport, where 747 jumbo jets used to land with a breathtaking right turn. From here, curved ceiling lines and flooring finishes subtly direct attention towards the interactive registration bench and the training rooms beyond. In the bridge cafe organically shaped seating is positioned, focusing the view away from the ungainly building opposite and towards the interiors where people interact in a campus-like setting. The inner periphery lounges offer yet more new viewpoints. Here people can converse in a more focused ambience.
