Embassy of Luxembourg, Beijing

Whereas most embassies strive to make an exclusive statement of their countries of origin, the new Embassy of Luxembourg in Beijing takes a radically different approach. Rather than being uncompromisingly ‘Luxembourgish in a foreign land’, the design employs an unusual blend of classical Chinese and European materials and forms to achieve a balanced and diplomatic ‘meeting of cultures’.
