Robert Ma Recognized as an ‘Outstanding Asian-American in Business’
Robert Ma, M Moser's Director, US-China Liaison & International Leader – Sustainability Initiative, has been named a recipient of the 'Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Award' for 2011. Presented by the New York City-based Asian American Business Development Center (AABDC), the awards represent a microcosm of the best and most innovative Asian American talent from across United States industry.
In bestowing the award, the AABDC panel considers nominees' professional achievements as well as their contributions to their respective industries and the business community. The Award ceremony took place at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York on June 16, with Senator Charles Schumer and City Comptroller John Liu in attendance.
After earning his Masters in Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania, Robert gained professional experience with major architectural firms in New York. Known as an innovative architect with a broad base of practical expertise, his 14-year career at M Moser has seen him take on important roles including leading the Shanghai and New York offices, and now working with clients globally.
Robert is a member of the US Green Building Council and serves on the Committee for the Environment at the AIA and the Sustainability Committee at Corenet. He has been the recipient of several prestigious design awards and has been published in The New York Times, Interiors, Time and Law Journal.

As a highly regarded leader in sustainable design practice, Robert's role at M Moser includes providing clients with advice on sustainable design strategies for architectural interiors projects, including regulations and compliance, carbon offset approaches, and energy efficient engineering. He is also a key figure in developing the firm's sustainability knowledge and expertise globally.
Robert earned his Masters in Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania and worked in a variety of capacities for major architectural firms in New York prior to joining M Moser. As a Design Director, he led a broad range of projects in the US and internationally.
With M Moser, he served as Director, Head of Office in Shanghai, and established and led the firm's New York office for a number of years. Currently, Robert's wide experience with both clients and projects in the United States and China is utilised in his role as the firm's primary US-China Liaison. His perspectives and extensive knowledge of building practice in China (including local practices in design/construction regulations, government permitting and costing strategies) have proved invaluable to a range of US-based clients with projects in this crucial market.
