M Moser's design for MLC's new offices at Times Square in Hong Kong is a reflection of MLC's collegial values and collaborative work-style. Headquartered in Sydney, MLC is an insurance company and subsidiary of National Australian Bank. At the leading edge of its industry, the firm has fostered a mandate for collaborative work among its staff and with its stakeholders. However, their previous office in Hong Kong's MLC Tower did not facilitate the kind of spontaneous interaction MLC executives envisioned. When their lease expired, they decided to launch a company-wide campaign for everyone to get involved in the decision-making process of their new space. The exercise in democracy, Project Fusion, led to one of the most refreshing commercial office spaces in Hong Kong, thanks to the creativity of the M Moser design team. - published in d+a, July 2005 <see full text> |
