Associate Director, Workplace Design Leader

Position Overview

As an Associate Director, Workplace Design Leader with M Moser Associates you will play a key role in advancing our design solutions, in generating new ideas for both projects and for the systems we use execute work, while maintaining enthusiasm about achieving clients’ business goals through our design. You will want to excel at holistically looking at projects from various angles, working with designers,
engineers and other project professionals to ensure an integrated final product. Your leadership will guide our team, clients and partners in winning and executing projects from concept through to completion by providing the direction necessary to execute project objectives.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Prepare, deliver and pitch design for new large scale project opportunities on a consistent basis
  • Active in business development, cultivating leads, proposal development and leading client interviews to win new work
  • Lead concept design and storytelling with a cross disciplinary team to define new experiences and opportunities for our clients
  • Deep engagement with office and global leadership with a sincere desire to make things better in our office and lead by example
  • Lead a team of designers to develop client solutions and solve complex problems
  • Maintain an active presence in the market to advance and communicate the M Moser brand
  • Brainstorm with in-house strategic planners to consider new solutions that address cultural opportunities in each project and redefine our understanding of every day paradigms
  • Take responsibility over the teams financial targets and look to generate the business volume and operational efficiency to meet those targets
  • Interface consistently and proactively with clients to ensure a smooth project delivery from inception to closure
  • Establish and maintain a high level of trust between the project team, client and other project stakeholders
  • Supervise the work and progress of Design team drawings, studies, specifications and other project tasks on multiple projects
  • Mentor and coach junior designers to enhance skills-building and teamwork
  • Proactively uncovering and enforcing ways to enhance office culture and facilitate a creative and collaborative working environment
  • Engage in talent recruitment by participating in select hires (or participate in the selection, interviewing and hiring of new talent)
  • Collaborate with contractors and subcontractors to share design and construction expertise in order to create inventive, well-crafted environments
  • Perform additional responsibilities necessary to help achieve business and/or project goals

You are a natural-born storyteller that can win work and inspire those working with you. As a Design Leader it is important that you are
someone who loves a challenge and does not turn away from getting your hands dirty to teach others.
You will have a natural flame, focus on the positive and have a passion that raises the excitement in people around you.


  • 10+ years of experience in workplace interior design or architecture
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Design or other related field preferred
  • Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), InDesign
  • A portfolio of signature conceptual design work, including some large workplace transformation projects
