Interior Designer

M Moser Associates is Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is hiring an Intermediate level Interior Designer. We are looking for a Designer who thinks out of the box to come up with new and creative outlook to solving design issue and able to execute these his/her ideas through proper communication with Design teams and various visual platforms.

Job Overview

As M Moser Associates Interior Designer, you will collaborate closely with the Project Team on all phases of the design and delivery of workplace transformation projects. It is your job to actively contribute to concept design and storytelling with our cross disciplinary team of architects, engineers, designers, strategists and other gifted professionals to define new experiences and opportunities for M Moser’s clients.

As an integral member of our Project Team, you will take a lead role in the pre-schematic design process, partnering closely with Senior Designers to create enchanting, intuitive and effective, one-of-a-kind design solutions that win clients' business! You will actively participate in client interviews and will become a trusted confidant for clients once the work is won through to the end of the project lifecycle.

As the project moves into design development, you will leverage your close relationship with the client and your exceptional detailing skills to help guide the design team in the delivery of the physical, social and digital environments that enable the business transformations of global organizations.

Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide presentable layout/Test fit or planning proposal based on Client needs with given spatial restriction with speedy comprehension.
  • Detailing in ACAD drawings and understand how things are constructed and creating creative ways of constructing something new.
  • Utilise SketchUp 3D Modeling as design development tool to produce a presentable 3D proposal.
  • Develop inspirational story boards based on the project brief, from a concept to a visual, tangible spatial proposal
  • Further develop the story board from concept images and story to actual material specifications, furnishings, lightings etc.
  • Collaborate with suppliers/vendors and internal Costing Team to develop and understand the cost involved based on your story board in order to present and explain to Client
  • Develop presentation skills in general public communication with confidence, verbalizing conceptual thoughts, demonstrating good listening ability and comprehension (what and how is the Client saying/responding)

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 3 – 5 working experience in the Interior Design field
  • Proficiency in adobe Illustrator, AutoCad, SketcUp 3D Modeling, PhotoShop
  • Excellent in written and speaking especially English language
  • Demonstrate good Design Team communication, able to bring up suggestions for improvements
  • Excellent observation and soft skills. Able to read the room atmosphere, fast thinking on one’s feet and reacting appropriately to a situation, observations skills (listening, watching, gut feelings etc.)
  • Able to work entrepreneurially with minimal supervision Action-oriented, driven towards results
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and prioritize effectively and thrive in a fast-moving, deadline driven environment
  • Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to change priorities quickly
  • Detail oriented
  • Able to communicate and work effectively with senior leadership and members of our global team
  • People management: demonstrate people management skills whether it be managing people’s expectations of deliverables, managing people’s personalities and characters, developing an open professional relationship of sharing and honesty
