Interior Designer - Workplace
M Moser Associates quickly growing Vancouver, British Columbia office is looking to hire an inspired Workplace Interior Designer to our growing team.
Job Overview
As a Designer with M Moser Associates, with your specific interest in leading the conceptual design of our projects, we will rely on your abilities to contribute to concept design and storytelling with our cross disciplinary team of architects, engineers, designers, strategists and other gifted professionals to define new experiences and opportunity’s for M Moser’s clients.
Primary Responsibilities
- Contribute to the story of the design and work closely with design lead to refine and augment
- Consulting with clients to establish design concepts and parameters, including how space will function, budget considerations, and aesthetic preferences
- To be a hands on designer who is able and excited to create the design materials needed (story-telling, conceptual ideas and sketches, modelling and illustration, design documentation, etc.)
- Generating conceptual designs using a variety of graphic techniques, including hand-drawn and computer-generated visuals, and work with Project/Cost Manager to prepare preliminary cost estimates
- Presenting design concepts to team members and clients for approval
- Preparing written specifications, working drawings, and construction documents, including verification that designs meet applicable building codes where necessary
- Delivering and winning design presentation opportunities for new medium sized projects on a regular basis
- Establishing and maintaining trust between the project team, client and other project stakeholders
- Problem-solving project design issues and applying inventive solutions

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Design or other related field
- Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), InDesign
- A portfolio of signature conceptual design work, including at least 2 or 3 workplace transformation projects
- Must have experience and confidence in delivering design pitches to corporate clients

- Ability to maintain design integrity from design concept through construction
- Effectively contribute to multiple projects at the same time
- Knowledge of local codes and permitting process and requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exemplary people skills with the ability to communicate and work effectively with clients, consultants, senior management, colleagues and junior team members
- Able to move from small project to big picture perspective in order to develop a holistic strategy geared toward design deliverables
- Able to work entrepreneurially yet thrive collaborating in a team
