What Is The Job?

M Moser Associates is looking for a Senior Workplace Strategist to be based in Shanghai who will engage with leaders of organisations to discuss business drivers as well as work cohesively with the design team to translate those business goals into design solutions.

The role of a Senior Strategist at M Moser Associates is seen as the conduit between business and design. This job will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Research and analysis of global shifts and trends in work behaviors
  • Conducting interviews, workshops and quantitative studies in the clients workplace to establish an understating of their business, culture and workspace
  • Ongoing engagement with the client team to facilitate co-creation
  • Working with a multi-disciplinary team to translate findings into design solutions
  • Developing briefs, occupancy plans and planning studies
  • Facilitating staff engagement and project co-ordination
  • Offering recommendations on the concepts, designs, and delivery of workplace projects
  • Collaborate with our marketing team to enlighten clients on the value-add strategy our firm's efforts provide
Who Are You?

As the successful Senior Workplace Strategist you will have the following Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Strategy, Architecture, Interior Design, or related field
  • 10+ years' relevant workplace design/management experience
  • Expertise in space densities and density planning
  • Business acumen and ability to understand key issues and drivers for business decisions
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal (Mandarin and Cantonese highly desirable)
  • Research & analytic skills in both quantitative and qualitative data
  • Ability to listen and engage with people from all levels of an organisation
  • Leadership & coordination skills with an understanding of project parameters
  • Creativity and ability to think outside the box

You should also have demonstrated experience and/or understandanding of:

  • Organizational Analysis: Observe, evaluate, and understand organizational functions, practices, and processes to gain insight into work environments, systems and worker behavior.
  • Human Behavior Analysis: Employ a systematic approach to observing, evaluating, and understanding how workers and work teams' interact, and the resources required to optimize those interactions.
  • Data Analysis: Categorize, describe, and analyze workforce data and information resulting in useable knowledge that informs workspace design.
  • Strategic Planning & Alignment: Observes, evaluates and understand the client organization's overall strategic direction (e.g. talent acquisition plans, strategic goals and business practices) to inform space needs.
  • Change Management: Prepares and supports individuals, teams and organizations in driving workplace change
