What Is The Job?

At M Moser Associates, the job of the Technical Designer extends through both the design and delivery of highly technical workplace projects. Our Technical Coordinator captains the job as early as the client interview, working closely with designers throughout test fit, schematic and design development to ensure the design integrity is maintained at all stages of the project.

As the project moves into Construction Administration, the job of the Technical Coordinator ramps up. As the Technical Coordinator, you are responsible for Quality Control, ensuring the designs are buildable. You will work closely with our internal team and external consultants to ensure the design and technical requirements are fully integrated and coordinated, producing high quality Construction Documents including program compliance, code and agency compliance.

Specific Responsibilities will include:

  • Creating highly technical and detailed contract documents (CDs)
  • Review CDs to ensure compliance with local and state building codes and ADA requirements
  • For smaller projects may oversee all CD production and review
  • Coordinate with our Technical Design Director and design staff to provide technical solutions for design dilemmas
  • Partner with project leader to create staffing plans to maintain project schedules
  • Manages project through contract administration phase
  • Government approval submissions and revisions
  • Coordinate engineering and MEP consultant’s work to ensure compliance with design solution and timely submission of documents
  • Respond to RFI’s and RFQ’s
  • Ensure adherence to set budget and immediately informs the Project Manager and client of any potential variances to the budget
  • Oversee tasks and provide feedback on work product
  • Participate in client interviews to determine technical requirements for the design
Who Are You?

M Moser Associates is looking for a Technical Coordinator who has the ability and motivation to produce highly technical and accurate construction drawings. Our Technical Designer will be someone that is proud to deliver projects with minimal conflict or revisions. In addition to your technical skill, you will also have strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with our conceptual designers.

Specific requirements include:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Technical Designer, Technical Coordinator, or Job Captain role working on medium to large scale corporate projects within the San Francisco Bay Area
  • Preferably NCARB Certified Architect in the state of California
  • Detailed understanding of California and San Francisco specific building codes and ADA requirements
  • Ability to develop and coordinate all phases of architectural and construction documents
  • Experience working with designers through the schematic and design development stages
  • Experience coordinating large projects working with various consultants including MEP, Engineering, IT, AV, Furniture, and other specialty vendors.
  • Knowledge of constructability of materials, and how building systems interact with each other
  • Strong communication skills with a team-oriented mentality
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Advanced Revit skills
