Job Overview


The job of a Technical Coordinator / Job Captain with M Moser Associates extends through the design and delivery of highly technical workplace projects. Our Technical Coordinator’s job to support the Project Team in the entire project life cycle. You will be involved as early as the Pre Schematic phases, working closely with designers throughout test fit, schematic and design development to ensure the design integrity is maintained at all stages of the project.

As the project moves into Construction Administration, your role as the Job Captain ramps up. You are responsible for Quality Control, ensuring the designs are buildable. You will work closely with our internal team and external consultants to ensure the design and technical requirements are fully integrated and coordinated, producing high quality Construction Documents including program compliance, code and agency compliance. You will become the go-to person when it comes to using your high level technical/computer design skills to turn ideas into reality. An important part of your role is to ensure the design complies with all building codes and standards. You will be proactive in mitigating later issues by considering legal restrictions and complicated engineering and MEP detail from the very beginning of the project.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Working as an Integral member of the Project Team, with the support of Senior Designers, participate in concept design, schematic proposal, project layouts and design development
  • Prepare schematic and developed design in 3D using Revit or other 3D modeling software
  • Research and coordinate technical data, materials and color palettes for presentations
  • Participate in client interviews to determine technical requirements for the design
  • Prepare finish material sample boards, physical models and graphic presentations for client approval
  • Coordinate with our Technical Design Director and design staff to provide technical solutions for design dilemmas
  • Coordinate engineering and MEP consultant’s work to ensure compliance with design solution and timely submission of documents
  • Respond to RFI’s and RFQ’s
  • Ensure adherence to set budget and immediately informs the Project Manager and client of any potential variances to the budget
  • Prepare drawings for tender, drawing detailing and execute construction documentation through to issue for construction documents; For smaller projects, may oversee all CD production and review
  • Create a master log of the project submittals
  • Ensure design complies with all building codes and standards, helping other designers to takes these restrictions into consideration during preliminary design phases

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ of experience in a Technical Coordinator, Job Captain, Architectural/ Technical Designer, Project Architect and/or Project Manager role with an interior design or architecture firm
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related (Master’s preferred)
  • NCARB Certified Architect in the state of business preferred
  • Awe-inspiring portfolio of corporate designs
  • Proficiency in Revit, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • LEED AP / LEED GA preferred


Key Competencies

  • Ability and experience executing medium to large workplace architecture and interior design projects, as part of a team but with minimal supervision
  • Ability to express self clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing , and communicate ideas in presentations to firm leaders, team members and clients
  • Experience with entire project lifecycle from pre-lease services through to post-occupancy
  • Exemplary people skills, able to work with and manage teams
  • In-depth knowledge of building codes, standards and building structures
  • Possess strong architectural design and planning skills
  • Proven fiscal accountability and responsibly
    Able to move from small project to big picture perspective in order to develop a holistic strategy geared toward design deliverables
  • Able to quickly and readily generate concepts for workplace environment using advanced skills in SketchUp, Revit and Adobe Suite
