Position Overview

As a Workplace Designer with M Moser Associates you will play a key role in advancing our design solutions, generating new ideas for projects while maintaining enthusiasm about achieving client’s business goals. It will be your job as a Workplace Designer to support our Project Teams in the design and delivery of the physical, social and digital environments that enable the business transformations of global organizations. You will collaborate with a fully-integrated team of architects, engineers, interior designers and specialists in the design and delivery of corporate workplace transformations, participating in all project phases from concept design through design development and into construction administration. 

Primary Responsibilities
  • Work as an integral member of design/build teams, participating in concept development, design documentation, and through construction administration
  •  Work side-by-side as a team with clients to solve complex problems
  • Due to the nature of our work there are times where we need to produce a high volume of work for a client and there are times where need to wait for their feedback. As a designer you need to balance these peaks and valleys of workload and strike your own work life balance
  • Using independent judgement you are responsible to negotiate timelines with your team and client and ensure the client is informed of adjustments you deem fit to balance the workload
  • Brainstorm with our in-house strategic planners to consider new solutions that address cultural opportunities in each project and redefine our understanding of every day programs such as workplace, retail, and hospitality
  • Provide assistance to the client and project team in the selection or consideration and choice of building materials such as woods, textiles, etc.
  • Participate in presentation boards, prepare renderings and produce drawings using various design tools including but not limited to Revit, AutoCad, SketchUp, Rhino
  • Participate in the construction administration of projects and review of submittals and finish sample
  • Maintain an awareness of trends and developments in design, materials, techniques and technology
  • Promote innovation and change
  • Perform additional responsibilities necessary to help achieve business and/or project goals

  • 5+ years of experience in workplace interior design or architecture
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Design or other related field preferred
  • Proficiency in SketchUp, AutoCAD, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • A portfolio of signature conceptual design work, including at least 2 or 3 workplace transformation projects

  • Ability to maintain design integrity from design concept to on-site construction
  • Effectively contribute to multiple projects at the same time
  • Knowledge of local codes and permitting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exemplary people skills with the ability to communicate and work effectively with clients, senior management, colleagues and junior team members

  • Able to move from small project to big picture perspective in order to develop a holistic strategy geared toward design deliverables
