Job Overview


The role of a Workplace Technology Strategist with M Moser Associates will include the generating of technology infrastructure designs in response to business/project requirements and contributing to developing and maintaining technical IT / AV strategies that support the integrated teams' (Designers, Engineers, Architects and Infrastructure Engineers) project design objectives. Your mission, should you choose to accept, is to deliver the most advanced work environments for ourselves and our clients through the deep integration of technology to support the future way of working.

Primary Responsibilities


As a Workplace Technology Strategist you will be responsible for producing infrastructure technical designs to support the client’s business in such a way that it is in line with the client’s workflow, culture, technical strategy and desired way of working. In this role you will be required to:

Listen. Be able to listen to clients, observe their pain points and create meaningful technology design solutions to address their workplace needs. This is not limited to only IT/AV/Security but can extend to areas about usability, workflow, etc.
Dream. To study, research and self educate on the latest technologies that exist in the marketplace and think of their application to the workplace. This may require some out-of-the box thinking. You are encouraged to collaborate with technology device and software companies to see how we can help them advance their latest products in the office environment through our work.
Experiment. Your quest for finding the latest and greatest application of technology in the workspace may require some piloting and testing. You are free to experiment within our own office or with our client under the umbrella of a pilot exercise. It is important to experiment and push the boundaries. 
Propose. Many clients will not know what they want from a technology perspective. You need to create the design solutions and work with the larger M Moser team to create the proposal for the client’s buy in.
Design, update and obtain client approval of all system design and drawings. As their consultant you need to be able to coordinate with other disciplines to ensure a well-considered solution is delivered.
Perform all the visualization and communication work necessary to get the clients buy-in to a given IT/AV/Security design.
Document. Provide clear and concise documentation of any configurations implemented or needed for successful implementation (i.e. network configurations, video settings, DSP settings, network settings, etc.)
Oversee the completion of the system test and accept / certifications / commissioning for installed solutions both remotely and onsite at client’s premises. Oversee all software /firmware configuration uploads and checks to ensure the system performs to both the manufacturer’s specifications and client’s requirements; perform a full quality control check for all fabrication and installation efforts including but not limited to IT/AV/Security best practices
 

Additional Activities that may be required depending on the project:

  • Provide end user training and support for deployments
  • Oversight and leadership of junior team members to carry out tasks to the highest level of professional excellence
  • Travel to client sites as required
  • Develop designs balancing requirements, costs and risk.
  • Peer review of designs, identifying opportunities for developing shared platforms and services, simplification and cost reduction

Most importantly you enjoy problem solving and relish in the challenge of understanding and integrating the client’s true needs into the strategic process.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Exposure working in a creative workplace strategy environment

  • Expert knowledge of audio principles and must have the ability to write and fine tune audio programs for Avaya, and Polycom
  • Expert knowledge of loading and troubleshooting AMX, Crestron, and Extron systems
  • Must be well versed in interacting with networks (wired or wireless) and must be able to support networked solutions for video conferencing, VOIP audio conferencing, and control system networking
