The dynamics of change at work: M Moser at the CTBUH "Cities to Megacities" Conference
China’s megacities are changing – driving and being driven by the dramatic evolution of technology, a new generation of worker with new expectations, and the changing nature of business itself. All these dynamics are flowing through workplace designs of the near future – but what does it mean in practice?
Answering this vital question was at the core of M Moser’s contribution to the “Cities to Megacities: Shaping Dense Vertical Urbanism’ conference organized by the Council for Tall Buildings and Urban Habitats” (CTBUH). Held on October 17-18th in Shenzhen, itself part of the fast-growing Pearl River Delta megacity, the event was part of the CTBUH 2016 international conference series convening a wide spectrum of professionals spanning architecture, design, urban planning, IT and MEP engineering, and others.
Moira Moser, M Moser Associates Founder and Chairman, led the firm’s participation with a presentation on “Creating Effective Workplace Environments in China’s Vertical Megacities” – complementing a white paper she co-authored on the same topic with M Moser’s John Sellery, Christine Bruckner, and Nabil Sabet for the conference.
“A Workday in the Life… ” was the theme of Moira’s subsequent Pecha Kucha presentation during the conference’s “Integrating the Occupier Experience” session. For “A Workday in the Life…”, Moira brought the audience on a tour of a state-of-the-art workplace from the point of view of a young, fictional knowledge worker named “Amy”.
As a CTBUH Conference Steering Committee member, M Moser Director Dr Christine Bruckner also chaired the Shenzhen conference’s “Urban Environmental Issues” session.
Beyond contributing the expertise and insights of our people, M Moser Associates also participated in the conference on a corporate level by serving as a “Silver+” sponsor.
