A milestone for human-centred sustainable design – the 1st WELL v1 project in APAC
Designed and built by M Moser as an exemplification of WELL-certified human-centred sustainable design in the region, GTB’s Shanghai office was officially opened by Delos/IWBI Founder Paul Scialla on February 23rd.
Just as LEED is known as a system of guidelines for sustainable buildings and interiors, WELL provides best practices for wellness. Setting industry benchmarks for fresh water, clean air, light, nutrition, ergonomic seating, acoustics and other design elements, WELL guidelines help create healthier and more productive work environments.
While GTB’s CEO Pete Rentschler congratulated the design team and highlighted the project’s success, Paul Scialla, founder of the WELL Building Standard™, shared how the positive ROI of WELL certification boosts productivity with a minimal additional per-person cost to a design. Besides, WELL also helps reduce staff absenteeism and medical costs.
As per M Moser’s Christine Buckner, an office designed to support wellness not only “ improves employee health and wellbeing, but encourages team-building and helps companies attract and retain talent”.
As a world leader in WELL implementation, with experience that includes the successful pre-certification of projects for Citi in Hong Kong and M Moser’s own Hong Kong office, M Moser has always treated wellness as a major priority and continues to be an innovator in this regard. Achieving the first WELLv1-certified project in Asia-Pacific is a prominent achievement, not only for M Moser, but also for the wider industry.
