Beam Suntory celebrates its “East-meets-West” culture with a new workplace
M Moser designed a new, socially engaging work environment for premium spirits company Beam Suntory in Singapore. In support of its mission to “inspire human connections”, this workplace would facilitate more interactions among staff and showcase its iconic portfolio of brands.
This workplace blends Japanese simplicity with American craft to reflect its values of harmony and well-being, creating an experience that comes together with the central feature of the ensō (“circle” in Japanese). This philosophy symbolises balance, enlightenment and gatherings: “Our design is further built up around harmony, ensō,” Beam Suntory HR Director Ilja Rijnen shares with Human Resources Online. “Many places to come together and share ideas; it is a very open and inviting space, homely and warm, yet challenging to new ideas.”
Inspired by Beam Suntory’s multi-cultural history, M Moser engaged local artists to create murals, graphics, and other artwork depicting the meeting of two worlds. The result is a personalised workplace that stimulates a spirit of creativity and elevates the brand experience. “You will find many creative working spaces for people to meet, share ideas, get together, and connect, including a great bar and lounge,” Rijnen adds.
