Bringing cutting-edge workplace design to Kunming’s tallest building
On May 7th, Hang Lung Properties held a press tour in Kunming, China, to announce the market positioning, architectural design features and facilities of its new office tower, part of the Spring City 66 development. Standing at 350m, the 66-storey office tower will be Kunming’s tallest building upon completion.
The event also marked the first public showcasing of the building’s M Moser-designed show suite, where the press tour was held. Drawing inspiration from the natural landscape, geographical features and diversity of Yunnan province, the design of the show suite is reminiscent of the region’s magnificent terraces and stone forests.
To create a memorable visitor journey, M Moser’s multi-disciplinary team including design, workplace technology, MEP and construction, worked collaboratively to develop a digitally enhanced experience throughout.
The digital journey starts upon entry, where users are given the opportunity to control and operate a variety of facilities through a tablet device. Improving the management and operational efficiency of the space, these facilities include lighting, theatre display, sliding doors between functional spaces, interactive gaming, and wireless projectors. A 300-inch curved projection display has been installed in the auditorium, enabling an immersive viewing experience for up to 20 people.
Introducing future-proofed workplace planning concepts, the design sets a precedent for modern working by supporting technology aspirations, talent strategies and business transformation. Workplace agility, digital experiences, collaboration spaces and user well-being have been prioritised to meet Hang Lung’s premium market positioning.
The show suite embraces the open plan and offers diverse settings to facilitate flexibility while meeting the needs of focused and team tasks. Spacious lounge and entertainment areas have been introduced to encourage mingling and interaction, with a goal to improve work-life balance and workplace well-being.
As one of Kunming’s most prominent office developments, the Spring City 66 office tower hosts a future-forward workspace that is both exemplary to the area and a benchmark for modern workplaces in Southwest China.
