Incubation and innovation
Reinvigorating the energy and creativity of a Californian tech start-up, the space is inspired by the entrepreneurial culture of PayPal’s early days in a Silicon Valley.
A small incubation area at the core for hosting start-up ventures features amphitheatre style seating to enable innovators to connect and collaborate. A designated Innovation Lab facilitates the development of new technologies such as virtual reality (VR) and the Experience Research Centre (CRC) is a space for analysing customer perceptions to develop business strategy.
The rest of the space houses the online payments technology team across two floors and the customer support team across another four floors. Essential startup elements featured throughout the space include ping-pong tables, vibrant colours, bold textures and a lofty area with plush sofas and custom art.
The team worked with a Californian art consultant and a range of local street artists to connect local culture, teams and the brand, through art. The business’ dedication to art provides employees with a new way to engage in the workplace, evoking emotion, storytelling and celebrating identity.
Serving as a business resource to attract and retain talent from across the Indian tech industry, all eight floors have been designed to embody an entrepreneurial, diverse culture. Taking cues from the design objectives, inclusion and wellness take centre stage, recognising the diversity of workstyles and space types necessary to support a broad range of needs.
A world-class cafeteria serves 24/7 to support varying working hours and a beautiful roof terrace with a cricket pitch provides a break-out game area that doubles up as a yoga space. The space provides ample access to natural light and greenery to enhance productivity and mood. It also features areas dedicated to rejuvenation, providing respite from the pressures of day-to-day work.
Inspired by aspects of residential design, the workplace creates an authentic, homely experience. Informal settings encourage interaction and teamwork, enhancing innovation. Breakout areas include AV provisions and stepped seating for team gatherings - a place for informal team sessions, training, or casual conversation.
“Our new Bangalore facility is a way for us to send out a clear signal to the market - we are here, we are hiring in big numbers, come and join us.”

GM PayPal India
As a trusted global workplace partner, the M Moser team provided a single point of contact for both design and construction management. The project was managed remotely with PayPal’s Global Design team based in the US.
Extensive communication in the form of weekly conference calls and project reports was vital to ensuring stakeholder expectations were met. Where required, the M Moser Kuala Lumpur team also interfaced with PayPal’s Procurement team.
To ensure the careful management of construction activities, with the first floors in operation, the schedule was broken into three phases and adjusted to working during evenings and weekends to ensure minimal disruption. Live-cameras were installed to share ongoing progress with the client.
The project was holistically delivered from design through to construction for a remotely located client. M Moser has created a future flexible, culturally infused, collaborative hub for talent attraction, incubation and innovation.
