We approached this space as a journey, designing moments of delight and timeless luxury. A hospitality-led workplace, The Great Room at 1 O’Connell is a place that invites people in, nurtures connection and reflects the distinct spirit of Sydney through its crafted details.
Inspired by the city’s natural landscape and architectural heritage, our team created a calm and elegant environment that sparks creativity and supports productivity. Earthy tones, soft curves and refined detailing create a distinctive sense of place.
For The Great Room’s second Sydney location, we delivered a hospitality-led workplace that balances operational needs with a strong sense of place. The space responds to the client’s global brand standards while remaining relevant to the local context to attract top Australian talent.

An internal staircase and a series of breakout areas encourage movement, collaboration and a strong sense of community.
Central to the experience is the communal drawing room, a welcoming space where members can meet, work and recharge. A mix of warm textures and materials evokes a relaxed, residential feel, while purpose-built zones support a range of activities from informal chats to focused work. A well appointed formal conference room and flexible event suite—the Stateroom and the Conservatory—complete the space, catering to everything from client meetings to large-scale gathering.
