Our client, a global leader in high-speed connectivity solutions, needed to overhaul its Toronto headquarters. The transformation reflects its pioneering technology while enhancing collaboration and employee experience.
Our multi-service approach delivered a workplace that mirrors the company’s commitment to innovation, sustainability and connectivity. Transformed, engaging and human-centric, this purpose-driven design now serves as the gold standard for our client’s future workplaces worldwide.
Reworking a rigid, cubicle-heavy layout, we wanted to revitalise the office and create a vibrant, technologically advanced and employee-centric workplace.
Rooted in the concept of ‘a link in the net,’ we structured the design around interconnectivity. Much like the semiconductors the company develops, the workspace is designed as a network of nodes, pathways and hubs linking people and ideas:
This spatially dynamic experience-driven workplace supports interaction, efficiency, and innovation.
Technology is at the core of the company’s business, so we embedded cutting-edge design tools to enhance visualisation, communication and decision-making throughout the project:
Our team took a holistic approach to sustainability. All stakeholders were educated on environmental impact throughout the project. Furthermore, working with our contractor and vendors, we embarked upon comprehensive waste management and demolition tracking. This allowed us to record and minimise overall environmental impact.
Designing to LEED and WELL Gold certification standards was a priority that guided our decisions:
The results?
Our interactive 3D tools allowed this client to see and understand the overall sustainability strategy and process in real-time, ensuring confidence in both the design and execution.
Just weeks into the project, the building’s property management changed. New regulations, standards and engineering requirements threatened to derail timelines and budgets.
Our solution? Intensive collaboration with new stakeholders, clear communication and rapid adaptation to evolving guidelines. Our proactive approach ensured that, even through challenges, our client’s vision remained intact.
Our zoning and layout strategy is designed to naturally guide visitors towards client areas while allowing employees direct access to their workstations. This promotes interaction while maintaining functional separation.
We created a destination workplace, one that employees are excited to come back to. By incorporating multi-use spaces, a dynamic work café, hot-desking zones and strategic workstation layouts with greenery views, we helped redefine what ‘a day at the office’ could look and feel like.
A transformed, engaging, and human-centric space that employees actively want to return to.
The new Toronto HQ has become a high-performance, dynamic workplace and a benchmark for our client’s global locations. By merging technology, sustainability and human-centric design we exceeded expectations, reinvented the workplace and delivered an innovative, on-brand environment that supports ongoing company growth.
