To support continued expansion in India, Gartner relocated its Chennai office to a new workplace designed for growth. The move provided an opportunity to refine workplace strategy, strengthen operational performance and establish a resilient foundation for future expansion.
After working with this client worldwide, we were asked to bring its global standards to Chennai. Our goal was to ensure the new office felt uniquely connected to its local setting.
Enabling collaboration and innovation, the new environment reflects Gartner’s values while resonating with teams to drive deeper connection and long-term value.
The relocation marked a strategic step in supporting Gartner’s expanding presence in India. The new workplace had to accommodate growing teams while reinforcing consistency across its global portfolio. It also needed to elevate the everyday experience, ensuring the environment actively supports collaboration, talent retention and performance.
We grounded the planning in long-term adaptability. This allows the workplace to evolve with changing team structures and ways of working while maintaining a clear and cohesive experience.
As a global organisation built on diverse perspectives and shared knowledge, Gartner requires workplaces that reflect both scale and culture. In Chennai, we developed a concept rooted in local identity that celebrates diversity.
Artwork created with regional artists references local landmarks, coastal landscapes and everyday street life. Hand painted installations and locally sourced textile framed pieces introduce texture within collaboration areas. A palette of sand, stone and muted terracotta grounds the office in its context while aligning with brand’s standards. Cultural references weaved into the architecture and materials creates a stronger sense of belonging for local teams while embodying Gartner’s values.
To enable innovation and support growing headcounts, we structured the workplace around clarity and adaptability. We built flexibility into the planning framework, ensuring the environment can respond to evolving team structures and varied workstyles without compromising cohesion.
Conference spaces, think pods and huddle rooms provide structured settings for collaboration, while clearly defined focus areas protect individual work. Open collaboration zones activate the floorplate, and intuitive circulation supports ease of movement. Workstations and shared spaces are positioned to maximise natural light, supporting comfort and energy throughout the day.
From day one, our focus was to create an environment that reflects Gartner’s values, culture and commitment to our associates. Bringing to life a workplace designed to inspire collaboration, innovation and growth has been an incredible journey.
Sasmita Sahu, Senior Director, GartnerA high performing workplace demands precision in how it sounds, feels and functions. To support Gartner’s team, we prioritised acoustics, comfort and environmental quality. Across open areas, acoustic ceiling treatments and corridor wall panels reduce reverberation and maintain a controlled sound environment, protecting concentration throughout the floorplate.
Engineered to an STC rating of 45, meeting rooms combine acoustic wall treatments, double glazed partitions and refined door detailing for confidentiality without isolation. Natural daylight and layered greenery introduce visual balance and energy, strengthening focus and overall workplace comfort.
A break-out area with games and books, a lactation room and diverse seating options support a healthy environment.
A close and fruitful collaboration with our client shaped Gartner Chennai into a workplace rooted in local culture, where nature, texture and craft are thoughtfully layered to strengthen belonging, enable growth and unlock long-term value.
