A workplace for growth and belonging

Lazada, Manila

Lazada, a major global e-commerce platform, needed an agile, energetic workspace to sustain its fast growth in Southeast Asia. Building on the success of our previous collaboration in Singapore, the client engaged us directly for this new project. We delivered a 5,000 sq m environment that strengthens operational capability while elevating the employee experience.

At a glance

  1. Integrated approach delivering major cost savings and enabling the expansion of outdoor space.
  2. Sustainable, adaptive design through broad reuse of existing furniture and materials.
  3. Clear brand integration and engaging local art.

Responding the brief with an integrative approach

Lazada chose us because our previous work together built real trust in our understanding of its brand and culture. Our integrated team could offer:

  • Zero-friction execution: One accountable team for design, cost and construction removed coordination gaps and sped up decision-making.
  • Familiarity with brand: Our existing knowledge base ensured that the global corporate guidelines were respected, while grounding the space in local culture.

Optimising space, resources and identity

Lazada’s Manila team needed a dynamic workspace that could reflect the forward-looking, collaborative spirit of a global tech brand and the vibrant, unique culture of the Philippines. The project required seamless execution across three objectives:

  1. Agile capacity: Reconfigure the space for efficiency, collaboration and flexibility, ensuring it could scale to support times of high activity.
  2. Strategic value: Achieve maximum cost-effectiveness and sustainability, reusing existing furniture and construction materials.
  3. Connection to local culture: Blend the global Lazada identity with local references.

Value, agility and placemaking

A major achievement of the partnership was the commitment to maximising resources. A thorouugh cost review and a detailed audit of existing assets reduced waste and limited new procurement. We then reinvested to expand the scope and create a new garden space.

The layout is engineered for agility, featuring flexible zones, collaborative benches and focused pods that support a wide range of work styles. This adaptability supports day-to-day efficiency and sets the workplace up for future growth.

Local culture is central to the experience. Communal areas feature murals by Filipino artists. These blend Lazada’s identity with local design elements to create a workplace that feels authentic to its Manila team.

Grounded in our integrated project delivery model and deep familiarity with Lazada’s global identity, our multidisciplinary global team created a cost-efficient and highly functional space. It’s culturally rooted and ready to support the client’s next phase of growth in Southeast Asia.
