When DNB, Norway’s largest financial services group and one of the world’s leading shipping banks, decided to move to Guoco Tower in Singapore, they wanted to create an environment reflective of DNB’s heritage, an attractive space that would maintain an element of surprise to engage visitors and employees alike as they walk through it.
The Norwegian Fjords were the template for a journey connected through nooks and routes, generating interest points at each turn. Using a landscaped plan as a natural metaphor, the design connects to its business and heritage while providing the colour palette and authenticity needed for the space.
Interest points were further enhanced using both Norwegian and local art, unique lighting pieces, wallpaper from Le Corbusier, marble, and other exquisite materials.
Entering the space, one flows into a client area flanked by the reception to the side and angled grand views of the city of Singapore. Through fjord-like corridors, the visitor is led towards various work and collaboration areas on both sides.
All employees work in open plan featuring a generous number of meeting rooms, fitted with tables of different heights for workstyle preferences. This enables a calm, library-like work environment where conversations can easily be transferred into any of the rooms available for everyone to use.
