How can organisations continue to extract value from their workplace long after a project is delivered?

This was the focus of our participation at Workplace Strategy Summit VIC 2026. The event brought together workplace, real estate and business leaders to discuss the future of workplace strategy, performance and experience in the region.

At the summit, our Australia team engaged with senior property and workplace technology leaders focused on a common challenge: how to ensure workplace investments continue to deliver measurable value long after project completion. As organisations face increasing pressure to optimise portfolios, support employee experience and demonstrate return on investment, workplace performance has become a critical measure of workplace success.

As part of the programme, Smart Building Strategist Paris Blake presentedProjects End. Performance Doesn’t. The Real Value of Workplaces Starts After Handover, exploring how organisations can move beyond one-time assessments to create a continuous approach to workplace and building performance.

The session addressed three fundamental questions::

  • How can organisations measure the ongoing success of their workplaces after handover?
  • Which workplace and building performance indicators provide the most meaningful insights?
  • How can data-driven decision-making unlock greater value from workplace investments over time?
