Accenture wanted its new facility in Aerocity, Delhi, to speak volumes in terms of “professional” aesthetics and superior design quality as its purpose would be to host business leaders from across the country and the world. Furthermore, the vision was to create a benchmark in workspace design, rivalling other top international consultancies.
The new consultancy space is an arena for Accenture to engage with customers and their India operations and was conceived as a workplace to promote innovative thinking and cross-business collaboration.
While only part of the leadership and the support teams are assigned to this office, the space also serves as a “touch down” point for regularly travelling clients and other business leaders. To accommodate this unique set-up, M Moser proposed a distinctly versatile design.
Spread over 20,000 sq. ft, the design seamlessly incorporates both assigned and agile seating as well as “breakout” areas and multifunctional spaces, catering to both focused work and informal discussion. A prime example of this versatility is how the assigned work cabins double-up as meeting rooms when occupants are travelling.
Along similar lines, the efficiently designed “Work Café”, which accounts for about 15% to 20% of the total workspace, caters to both staff and visitors alike. Additionally, it is a welcome respite away from the desk and an ideal venue for informal meetings over a cup of coffee.
Offering scenic views of the surrounding area, the project also boasts a sizeable outdoor terrace complete with seating, to accommodate large and small groups for various purposes. From day one, the terrace was designed as a continuation of the indoor offices, which has enabled the M Moser team to shape it in a way that effortlessly complements the overall design language.
“Design thinking” zone
Along with its distinct branding, Accenture is recognised for innovative, progressive thinking - a business ethos this office was designed to support. In an effort to extend this philosophy to the workplace design, the M Moser team helped conceptualise and execute a “Design thinking” zone as part of the new Aerocity workspace.
This space enables Accenture consultants to work with business leaders in a “War Room/Project Room” set-up – a hub to facilitate the study of digital, analytical information and formulating action plans based on these studies. The “Design thinking” area is furnished with a connected, interactive screen and writable surfaces to facilitate strategic dialogues.
Another USP of the facility is its location. Situated just 10 minutes from the capital’s international airport, the office is conveniently located so that business heads and clients can avoid the tedious inner city commute. Subsequently, this allows visitors the flexibility to maximise their workday by flying in and flying out, with minimum travel time.
