How do you reflect a consistent brand identity throughout different building units of various functions?
This is the challenge we were tasked with for Q-Plex, a mixed-use complex in Shenzhen’s Overseas Chinese Town. Spreading into 12 standalone buildings, Q-Plex was conceived as a self-sufficient campus for office, residential, and commercial activities. As the design and build partner, M Moser provided services for three buildings including office space, multipurpose areas and a marketing showcase floor.
- Creating a versatile, multipurpose space within a clear user journey to reinforce brand identity and set the tone for the space;
- Fostering a seamless spatial experience by extending architectural and landscape elements into the interior, to realise the vision of a “working in a park”;
- Adopting a people-centric approach to reflect brand aspirations and emphasise quality.

A landmark structure
Supporting Q-Plex’s key objective to create an innovative and immersive campus in Shenzhen, M Moser has conceptualised a distinct, spherical interior structure - “The Egg.” Sitting inside the podium at the campus entrance, “The Egg” is a striking novelty with its bold structure, setting the expectation for the rest of the journey.
As semi-closed ellipsoid, the structure occupies two floors and has been designed to include a reception, café and event space. Its white grid structure complements the podium ceiling in the same colour. To meet fire safety regulations that prohibit wooden enclosures, wood-pattern veneer has been generated via 3D printing and laid on top of metal panels to create a natural, healthy look-and-feel.
Embracing smooth curves, “The Egg” is a lively, positive structure that works in harmony with the creative, free and open spirit of Q-Plex.
“The placement of an organic element within a rectiliner structure creates a symbiotic relationship between the building and the surrounding natural environment.”

A holistic experience
To create a structured user experience throughout the campus, the team drew inspiration from the architectural and landscape elements, and applied it to the interior spaces.
Mini-landscapes, a collection of wood materials and green flooring have been introduced throughout the lobbies and multi-purpose space to recreate the natural environment, supporting Q-Plex’s ambition for people to “work in the park”.
Featuring soothing lighting and a wood-inspired reception, the lobby extends a warm welcome to visitors while seamlessly connecting to the external landscape. Providing a unique experience throughout, this self-sufficient campus priorities community and sustainability.
A distinct showcase space
Providing an overview of Q-Plex’s business, the showcase floor has been designed to support the campus’ sales objectives - reinforcing brand identity and supporting customer care.
The space features white marble with natural stone texture in line with the building lobby, while blue-toned mosaic rugs guide wayfinding upon arrival.
Enclosed by net-like metallic curtains, the central display space provides a memorable, intimate environment for customers to gain detailed knowledge of Q-Plex through virtual tours and discussions with the sales team.
Equipped with a bar, the lounge area adopts grey carpets to set a boundary with the neighbouring space. Implementing furniture in various shades of grey, the space provides a comfortable resting environment for weary guests.
Inspired by brand identity and the natural environment, M Moser has instilled a sense of delicate elegance to the Q-Plex complex. From the iconic structural entrance to the detailed-oriented showcase floor, the space features a collection of unique spatial experiences to facilitate a “new urban office ecosystem”.
