We’re delighted to share that our Amsterdam living lab has won the 2025 CoreNet Sustainable Leadership Award. The award celebrates our work in reimagining a historic canal-side building as a sustainable, low-carbon space that supports wellbeing and performance.
A dynamic, real-time experimentation hub, the Amsterdam living lab showcases M Moser’s commitment to sustainable innovation through cutting-edge design, energy performance and workplace wellness.
CoreNetWe set out to reduce our environmental impact while creating a better experience for our people and visitors. The space has achieved WELL Platinum certification and we’re working towards net-zero recognition through the International Living Future Institute (ILFI) and Global Network for Zero (GNFZ) certifications. As a living lab, the studio is a place to test new ideas and develop scalable strategies, showing clients practical ways to decarbonise.
This award recognises how collaboration, smart technology and light-touch design can unlock healthier, lower-carbon workplaces in heritage settings. Amsterdam is our proof of concept. The insights we gather here are already shaping client projects and helping teams thrive.
Sam Allen, Associate Director. SustainabilityDelivering a smart, sustainable workspace in a listed building required close collaboration across our strategy, design, sustainability and technology teams, as well as local suppliers and, critically, the landlord. The landlord supported our ambition to meet net zero goals by installing 48 solar panels on the building’s roof, with 32 allocated to us. They also provided greater control over ventilation and lighting systems, helping reduce energy consumption and costs.
Our sustainability team collaborated with local suppliers who lacked formal sustainability processes. Together, they developed practical solutions to meet the project’s environmental standards. This collective problem-solving approach brought alignment and creativity to every stage of the project.
Early workshops brought together diverse perspectives and ensured the input on layout, materials and sensory considerations were gathered across the team. To connect people to the space, the team created a deconstructed piano installation using donated parts from a local workshop. Positioned at the heart of the studio, the artwork sparks conversation and celebrates the building’s heritage.
