Having collaborated on multiple workplaces globally, we were engaged to design and build a new office for XTX Markets at OUE Bayfront, Singapore.
The space is purpose-built to support the realities of a fast-paced trading environment. Designed for a globally connected team operating across multiple time zones, the workplace balances deep focus, with moments to pause, reset and connect with others.
The brief centred on creating a workplace where people can focus on delivering excellent work, while recognising that not everyone works in the same way. Comfort and wellbeing were treated as essentials, helping the office perform reliably throughout the day. The environment is carefully calibrated to limit visual, acoustic and movement-related distractions, making it easier to settle into focused work and daily routines.
Decisions around layout, adjacencies and materials were guided by how the space needed to work, rather than how it needed to look. This meant a high level of spatial control was essential. Clear zoning, well-defined circulation routes and a consistent spatial logic create a calm, legible environment that supports different working preferences.
Wellbeing is deeply embedded into the planning of the office. Spaces for rest, movement and recovery are distributed across the floorplate.
Wellness rooms, showers and quiet spaces support different working rhythms, while generous social areas help people move from intense focus to informal connection.
The design draws inspiration from science, mathematics and space exploration, fields closely associated with logic, precision and problem-solving. This approach is a consistent thread across XTX Markets’ wider portfolio.
In Singapore, Apollo 11 is referenced as a symbol of innovation. Curated artworks and sculptural elements reinforce brand identity without dominating the space. They add character and depth, revealing themselves gradually as part of the everyday office experience.
XTX’s Singapore office demonstrates how a high-performance workplace can also be considered, creative and supportive. Designed around focus and wellbeing, it reflects a clear understanding of how people work and how the workplace can support them.
By translating complex operational needs into a clear spatial strategy, the office prioritises everyday experience while feeling purposeful, refined and human.
