Zendesk is a global technology company that helps organisations build strong relationships with their customers. As it expanded into India, it set out to create a workplace that reflects its brand, attracts top talent and supports long-term growth.
As Zendesk’s first office in India, the workplace needed to enable collaboration, strengthen culture and deliver a high-quality employee experience while reflecting the company’s global brand standards. We successfully delivered a connected boutique workplace that balances flexibility, functionality and wellbeing to advance our client’s expansion in the region.
As Zendesk’s first office in India, the workplace needed to represent the brand while supporting how people work every day. Our vision was to shape a ’boutique workspace’ that expresses sophistication while supporting collaboration and wellbeing. Working closely with our client, we created a welcoming and highly connected environment that balances brand storytelling with comfort, usability and local character.
The workplace draws inspiration from Pune’s culture through a contemporary lens. Warm materials, earthy tones and bespoke detailing create a refined, boutique-like atmosphere, while biophilic elements and locally inspired art strengthen the connection to place. Tonal grey accents, curated artwork and integrated material selections subtly express the brand identity throughout the workplace. The layout supports different workstyles through a mix of collaborative, focused and wellness spaces. Open work areas maximise daylight and views, while the central fountain hub encourages connection, social interaction and events. In addiition, integrated ramps, seamless level transitions and accessible wayfinding improve inclusivity and ease of movement throughout the office.
From day one, we aligned design decisions with operability and delivery needs. Furthermore, our team integrated lighting, air-conditioning, sprinklers and acoustic systems directly into the architectural language. Soft organic ceiling forms conceal technical services and maintain a clean, cohesive look across the workplace. Acoustic ceiling strategies in collaborative areas reduce sound transfer and allow social, collaborative and focused spaces to function comfortably side by side, reinforcing the calm and refined boutique workplace feel.
Natural light, planting and warm tactile materials shape the workplace experience from the moment of arrival. Open work areas along the façade maximise daylight and views throughout the day. Quieter wellness spaces near the core offer moments of retreat and reset.
At the heart of the office, the central fountain hub encourages movement, social connection and flexibility. Teams use the space for everyday collaboration, informal gatherings and larger town halls. Soft lighting, integrated acoustics and seamless environmental controls create a workplace that feels comfortable, balanced and human-centred. Durable materials, biophilic design and efficient planning also support the project’s long-term sustainability goals.
The 106-day program required close coordination across design, procurement and construction, alongside collaboration with global stakeholders. By advancing design, cost and engineering in parallel, we enabled faster decision-making while maintaining quality and design intent. Early material approvals and cost review, along with full-scale mock-ups, helped minimise delays and streamline delivery on site.
Digital tools supported transparency and alignment throughout the project. Site scanning reduced discrepancies during execution, while 3D modelling helped stakeholders visualise the design and accelerate approvals. Remote progress tracking and timely client feedback maintained alignment between design and construction teams throughout delivery.
The completed workplace reflects Zendesk’s ambition for growth in India. A connected, high-performing environment that strengthens culture, supports people and creates a lasting sense of place.
