M Moser wins buildingSMART China “Zhilian Cup”

We are proud to have been awarded Best Case in the category of “Big Data Models & bSDD Professional Research” at the 4th buildingSMART China “Zhilian Cup” openBIM Excellence Awards.

As the highest recognition in the programme, this award reflects our practical application of AI within BIM delivery workflows to address real productivity challenges. By embedding artificial intelligence at the core of model organisation and information management, we can shift collaboration away from traditionally labour-intensive manual processes toward a systemised, AI-driven foundation.

Ranked first by both expert jury and public vote

The project submitted by our team received over 259,000 verified public votes and ranked first in both the public vote and the professional jury evaluation. This dual recognition reflects our approach to applying AI in day-to-day BIM delivery, supporting more efficient model organisation and clearer cross-disciplinary collaboration.

The project previously won the second prize at the Singapore Archifest’s AI Hackathon and will be submitted as a representative case for the buildingSMART International Awards.

Technology-driven, integrated workflows

Our project addresses a long-standing challenge between design and delivery: fragmented information flows.

With our solution, tasks that are traditionally handled manually, such as classification and data structuring, are automated early. AI is introduced as a coordination layer before the BIM model is fully finalised. This enables:

  • Early design intent to connect directly with structured BIM systems
  • Model organisation to be managed automatically, rather than through line-by-line manual input
  • Multidisciplinary teams to collaborate on a shared, AI-generated model foundation

With 3D as the central reference and AI supporting coordination, the approach improves clarity and decision-making across strategy, design, engineering and delivery, enabling collaboration that is integrated and practically actionable for clients.

Delivering innovation at scale with a lean team

The project prototype was developed by a small, cross-regional M Moser team comprising Mustafa Tofur, Kim Law, Lucas Wu and Jason Li, with support from Cloudtim and OpenAI. This agile setup enabled rapid progression from concept to validation, reflecting how we embed innovation into everyday delivery practice.

4th buildingSMART China “Zhilian Cup” 2025

We remain committed to developing AI-enabled, 3D-based workflows through pragmatic, production-focused approaches and are grateful for the opportunity and recognition provided by buildingSMART China and the “Zhilian Cup organising committee.
