Global Law Firm,
With amenities that no longer supportive of the current needs of the practice, this global law firm’s office design reimagines 25,000 square feet of meeting rooms, library, storage and case rooms into a vibrant community workplace; bringing both clients and staff together in a combination of formal and informal settings.
Workplace design solutions
To achieve the desired organisational transformation, two objectives generally need to be achieved. First, the design must deliver greater benefit and productivity to staff using the workplace. Second, it should achieve this at a lower cost to the business, while maximising the return on the capital invested in the office environment.
Cafeterias were transformed into a multi-purpose space to support client seminars and training events. Regular meeting rooms are designed to also support fine dining with concealed service furniture for lunch time meetings.
A previously unused events space was transformed into a 160-person dished auditorium for presentations.
The benefits and opportunity this brings to fee-earning staff allows the partnership to reduce the workspace allocation elsewhere in the building and ultimately move toward an open plan or unassigned desks model, knowing that the core amenities are fully supportive. Over the length of the office lease, this leads to space efficiencies and removes the requirement for outsourced event space, thus providing tangible P&L improvements.
